Can you use vacuum space saver bags in your carry on luggage?

I want to make just a little more room in my carry on bag but I fear that TSA agents will want to open it. A friend said they didn’t think so because it would just be clothes in there and they can x-ray through that. By the way, I’m traveling to my parents so revacuuming the bag is not a problem. Thanks.

  1. I use the space saver bags all the time in my carry on. It makes lots more room. I use it just for clothes and they have never opened it.

  2. Space saver vacuum bags can compress things as much as 100%. They are good for checked or unchecked luggage. The good advantage of the bags is their transparency. The clear bags make it easy for security to see whats in the bags without handling the contents.
