  1. if you like the smell of moth balls – the have ‘moth crystals’ that you could add to the canister- maybe also you could wrap a paper coffee filter around some potpourri tape up the seam well and put in the bottom of the canister.

  2. You can spray a cottonball with your favorite perfume or with a few drops of your favorite essential oil and throw it into the canister. When you turn it on, it will smell like that everywhere you go. You can mix several drops of the same into about 2 cups of baking soda or salt, spread it onto the carpet and let sit for thirty minutes. Then vacuum as usual. The salt and baking soda will clean out your hoses some too.

  3. usually before I vaccuum i use that powder smell good stuff for the carpets… it always smells great when I am done…

  4. Dryer sheets leave a waxy deposit on everything. That’s why towels dried with them aren’t as absorbant. It will leave a residue that will attract dirt in the vacuum. Put some lighter fluid on a small rag and wipe out the drum in your dryer and you’ll see what I mean.

  5. The powder carpet freshner. Make sure your bagless is empty…Vacumn up the freshner (which shouldnt be much) and the smell will last for days. I did this with coffee (on accident) and my house smelt like french vanilla for 3 days

  6. i agree with those who suggested the carpet freshener powder. you can make your own by putting some baking soda in, say, a yogurt container. sprinkle it with a little of your favourite essential oil, shake to evenly distribute it and then punch some small holes in the container lid. sprinkle on carpet, leave fo 15 mins and then vacuum.
