How long can roaches last without an air supply?

My apartment has roaches everywhere and pest control hasn’t got the problem in this building under control, so I’m moving. My new place is roach free and I’m wanting to try and move no roaches with me. My idea is to get a bunch of vacuum seal bags, put stuff inside, then vacuum out the air and let it sit till they die, then unload. Does anyone know how long roaches can last without air?

Thanks!

  1. I would say no longer than a few minutes. Although, you can get majority of the air sucked out of the bags, there will still be a small supply. So to ensure that the roaches are dead you may want to leave the stuff in the bags for a few days, maybe even a week.

  2. I’m not so sure that your plan is going to work. Roaches need little air to survive. Your best bet is to remove any sources of food. leave your belongings outside in a dry/safe place for a day and the roaches will leave in search of a new food source. Carefully shake out your belongings and whala! Try it on a test article first. Good luck
