I’m in Australia and I want to buy a good quality vacuum cleaner.
Where do I go to do this and what models does everyone recommend?
Bagged or Bagless?
I live in a house with carpet AND wood floors!

Hi there 🙂
My friend has a vax, and that is really good because you can also shampoo carpet and couches etc with it (well the pet vax does anyway, not sure about the others.) I have heard rave reviews about dysons, I think this is what I will buy next. They are bagless and don’t lose suction. I have seen both vacuums at places like Harvey Norman, Retra Vision, the Good Guys etc. They are expensive, but I’d rather buy an expensive vacuum cleaner that works really well than a cheap one that doesn’t. Hope this helps!
I also have carpet and wood floors. I use the Rainbow vacuum. It is bag less and uses water instead. Here is a site I found for you. Maybe you can find one where you live.
they’re all equal -visit the local shops and buy the one that fits your needs and price range.
I have a Hoover wind tunnel which is a work-horse… very reliable and but it’s about 6 years old now. GREAT vac. — helps my husband with bad allergies (I put an Arm&Hammer allergen bag in it which also helps).
…recently got the Dyson DC17 Asthma and Allergy as a gift and (though I’ve loved the Hoover for years) it is unbelievable! It blows my trusty Hoover out of the water! There are no bags, and yet it still excels with trapping allergens. It is super easy to empty and clean. It is an amazing machine!
Good luck! Happy Shopping!
Oh… by-the-way… I know our Hoover came from Target, but I’m not sure if our Dyson came from Target or Kohl’s. Either would be a fine place to shop for your new vacuum.
