Play music while cleaning up your room, sing along. 😀
Or, if you have a t.v. in your room, than watch t.v. while cleaning up.
Try not to pressure yourself into cleaning up everything, but clean an area at a time and take a short break.
Good Luck!

i agree with the first answer…..and just did near the same myself. When i’m doing the dishes, i usually rock out to some music…makes it go a lot quicker, especially if you get into a good rhythm! 😀
This will take a week to complete but soooo worth it.
Day 1: using a trash bag go around your room and clean out any trash, old papers and such. Make sure you also take any dishes to the kitchen.
Days 2: Take a trash bag (big or small grocery bags are good for this), go around your room and clean out anything that you don’t want or need. If you come to a “maybe” item put it aside (this will be taken care of later). When you are done throw that bag away or take it and donate it immediatly to a church or other organization.
Day 3: take a bag or small storage tote and go around your room and place all the “maybe” items in this bag/tote. Set this to the side for safe keeping for the time being.
Day4: take a bag or tote and place in it any items that you absolutely DO NOT what to get rid of. This is your must keep box.
Day 5: Pull out the “Maybe” tote/bag and go back through it. Evaluate each item and it’s worth of keeping. It will either be a yes or no, there is no maybe on this day. Either keep the stuff or get rid of it. When done donate or throw the bag away.
Day 6: Do a thorough cleaning, dust, vacuum, change the sheets on your bed. Pull out your must keep box and clean all items that have been kept and put them back in place.
Day 7: Enjoy your now freshly clean, uncluttered room!
Doing it this way gives you time to evaluate your items value to you and also keeps you from getting overwhelmed by cleaning a horribly cluttered room.
You can use the tecnique for ALL the rooms in your home!
I do this once a year. You would be surprised the amount of useless stuff one can amass in a years time simply because we hate to get rid of something because….insert reason here.
i had the same problem before untill one day my mother walked in to my room untied her apron and put it on me at 23 i should really of kept it clean but since that day if i need to clean i grab her apron from down stairs and by wearing her apron it somehow puts me in the mood to clean . so wear an apron and see will it have the same affect on you
