I need to purchase a new vacuum cleaner in the 5 – 5 price range. Does a bagless have as much sucking power? Do I have to replace filters on bagless vacs? Thanks

If you have pets a bagged vacuum will most likely be able to contain the odors within. Both can have equal suction power but with the price range you gave us I’m sure you should go bagged if you want good suction.
Cyclonic are nice to have because of its easy clean-up, and you are also not using money on replacement bags. The only down side is that sometimes the bags are discontinued and hard to find.
no but you will have to clean the filter and empty the bin after using it for about 1 hour depending on the amount of dirt you have….the filter is just like a sponge to clean it you just rinse it under water and cant use it again till it drys
It is a personal choice.
I like my Oreck with bags, since it is very light weight and works wonderful. My local Oreck store has a $99 sale going on, so maybe check that out in your area. I also like the carbon bags since I have animals, it keeps the smell down to nothing. The bags are easy to change and there is no dust being released from the vacuum, with no filters to clean out.
My sister loves her Dyson bag less, but I find it a pain to clean out, and very, very heavy. I just do not see the point when you dump the canister and the dust just flies out everywhere, and it breaks your back hauling the thing up and down the stairs.
I love Oreck with the bags, but right now I am using a regular Dirt Devil bag less. The best thing about bag less is that you just rinse out the canister and wash the filters, with bags you have to hunt them down, and they cost a lot, well I vacuumm alot so I had to change the bags more often than most 🙂
if you watch tv there is a new vacum that kills bacteria,
if not then bagless, it’s convenit and you don;t have to keep buying and buying and buying bags, so it’ll save you money
The dust kicked up in Melville and Anna Bissell’s crockery shop and inspired Melville Bissell’s invention of the carpet sweeper. Originally developed to preserve Melville’s health by sweeping away the dust, the Bissells soon recognized the sweeper’s market potential. Women neighbors of the Bissells, working out of their homes in Grand Rapids, Michigan, put together the inner workings and cases of the sweeper.
