The Eureka 4870mz Vacuum Cleaner Vs. a Bagless – Does A Bagless Vacuum Really Save Money In The Long Run?
Article by Erika Nagy
I am analyzing a lot regarding vacuum cleaners lately, including the Eureka Vacuum 4870mz. I’m in the market looking for a new vacuum cleaner, and I’m contemplating purchasing a higher-end bagless vacuum cleaner. But I have forever owned a vacuum cleaner with dust bags. Do I go with the Dyson dc25 Vacuum or the Eureka Smart Vacuum 4870mz?
Each model is ideal for me: on/off brushes, HEPA filter, awesome suction & versatility. The blatantly differences are: The Dyson All Floors dc25 Animal Ball Vacuum is bagless and the Eureka Smart Vac 4870mz uses a bag. But let us take a look at the pricetag…
Are bagless vacuums really money saving… enough to justify cost? If you absolutely don’t enjoy purchasing bags, then the answer quickly becomes yes. changing a bag doesn’t bother me. So this is the price difference that I found. You can get a 1 year supply kit for the Eureka Vacuum 4870mz for around .00. It includes eighteen Eureka RR bags, 1 Eureka HEPA filter, a belt replacement, & 2 filters for your motor.
As per the manufacturer, it recommends changing out a bag every 1-2 months, the HEPA filter & motor filter every 6 mo’s, & changing out the motor belt once every 12 months. Even if you were to addon an extra HEPA filter to the 1 year supply kit, that’s only a year to maintain maximum performance of your Eureka Smart Vacuum 4870mz. The vacuum cleaner by iteself costs around 0. Which means you could probably buy seven years worth of the “one year supply kits” and even STILL be under the cost for the Dyson dc25.
The Dyson dc25 Vacuum has a good five year warranty on labor/parts, but if your filter acquires a foul odor or needs replacing for another reason, the warranty does not cover its replacement. For a vacuum cleaner that performs well, has a good HEPA filtration system, and the versatility for doing a good job on all floors, the Eureka Smart Vacuum 4870mz can squeeze my pocketbook.
