Use an Appropriate Vacuum Cleaner To Create a More Sanitary Home
Article by Jamie Francis
No matter how careful you are, it is impossible to avoid dirt entering the house. It will make its way into your carpets and collect in the corner of hard-surfaced flooring.
In order to maintain a clean and comfortable living space, every home will need to have at least one reliable and powerful household vacuum cleaner. Different types of dirt are best dealt with by various specific cleaner types, and the layout of your home may also dictate which type is best.
How to Clean Your Carpets
Vacuum cleaners are the best way to quickly and thoroughly clean dry dirt and dust out of any carpet. They will suck up the dirt, pulling it out from between the fibres and storing it in either a bag attached to the vacuum, or a permanently fixed cylinder or drum. When these are full, either the drum is emptied into a bin, or the whole bag is detached for disposal.
Using Attachments for Hard to Reach Areas
Cylinder vacuum cleaners often come with attachments that, when fitted on the end of the vacuum cable, help with cleaning in awkward to reach places. These attachments may be wedge-shaped to fit into tight corners or wide and flat to cover more flooring in less time. A crevice nozzle is a commonly offered with cylinder vacuum models. There are also brush attachments that can be used to dust window blinds and other surfaces around your home.
Upright vacuums are less likely to have attachments, although some that are fitted with cables may offer these extras. Hand-held household vacuum cleaners often have attachments that fit on the end and make cleaning up quicker and more efficient.
Filters and Air Quality
Many of the leading manufacturers offer HEPA filters on their vacuums. These trap dust, pollens and other allergens that are often stirred up during the cleaning process. As allergies are becoming increasingly common, so vacuum cleaner makers are increasingly keen to show that they are helping householders eliminate potential sources of such problems.
Filters are essential for use when cleaning homes where pet hair is an issue. Removing as many of these irritants as possible from the air will make the home environment much more healthy. And creating those healthy, clean conditions are the reason that you clean in the first place.
Frequent use of a household vacuum cleaner ensures your home is clean, comfortable and sanitary. So investing in a dependable and powerful model is a wise step. And with vacuum cleaners being designed to be easy to store away when not in use, there is no reason for not having one to hand to help maintain a clean and healthy home.
