My old Regina Housekeeper has been dying a slow death and I must shop for a new vacuum.
I want one the same but of course they stopped making Regina. It is light weight, small, has the power bar that goes round, and best of all has the hose that very easily lifts up out of the bottom and has the attachments stored right on the vaccum for the hose/stick. It uses bags.
I don’t care if the new one uses bags or is bagless.
What would you recommend? Thanks.
We bought a Miele Flamenco ($300) when our 20-year-old Hoover gave out. We liked it so much that we bought a second one for upstairs (so we don’t have to tote it up and down the steps).
It’s very efficient, very quiet, neat bag removal, and the hose has a clip that attaches it to the handle in storage. It has a power floor attachment (I can’t use it because of cat hair) and all the normal accessories — crevice tool, furniture tool, dusting tool, etc.
It has two filters, which come with a package of bags. If you feel you need to change filters more often, you can buy more separate from the bags.
an electrical engineer may be able to service your Regina and give her new life. There may be dust in the motor or something, it seems a shame to throw her out if she can be restored.
