My vacuum smells like a dog, and I've never had a dog?

I have a bag-less vacuum where I clean the filter myself. A week ago I washed all the parts with a mild bleach water solution like recommended, and let it dry for a day. Now, out of the blue, every time I turn on the vacuum it smells like a stinky dog! I’ve never had any animals in this house, and It had never smelled like this before. Any ideas as to what the problem is? My grandparents are visiting tonight and I really don’t want the house to smell like animals!

  1. Sprinkle some bicarb soda on the carpet and vacuum. The bicarb soda will absorb odour in the carpet and vacuum cleaner. Don’t empty the cleaner immediately after use this one time, but before the next use.

Next time you wash the filters, do as per instruction, but add some white vinegar to the rinse water. No smell when dry.
