alika613 need help to clarify doubt about: : How do you clean a completely trashed room?
Sorry, but I’m not much of a cleaner- and it’s come to my attention that my bedroom has turned into my cave, o_0 The thing is, where do I start? How do you clean a room that’s so far gone it would probably be easier to bomb and rebuild?
I know my question seems vague, but is there a set order that would make this easier? Do I completely clean one section, then do another, or do I do the whole room in steps?
Thanks!

Hit the floor, first. Take a trash bag, throw out anything that’s garbage.
Don’t vacuum until last. Consolidate stuff that needs to go to other rooms in one area- an attic pile, a garage pile, etc. Saves time rather than running back and forth.
Last thing to do is dust/wipe shelves. desks, frames. Then vacuum. Then do any stain removing on the carpet…Folex does a great job. Much easier to rubs stains out of a vacuumed carpet.
You might want to wash your sheets and pillowcases. Tons of dust mite crap (literally).
Best way to keep it from becoming a cave again is to clean as you go- don’t let wrappers, cans, etc pile up, just trash them immediately. If I could only get my wife to follow this philosophy.
Give your answer to this question below!
when i clean a room i usually start w/1 thing 1st, then move to another and so on and so forth
maybe all my clothes
then
my bed
but i always clean the floor last
hope this helps
p.s. my mom says the trick to keeping ur room clean is to clean it then put everything back where u got it from!
E-Zer said then done!=)
I start with the trash, i throw out everything that is uneccesary and then i move to the clothes, i seperate and wash all clothes, put away all clean clothes, make the bed, dust, vacuum, wash windows and mirrors. Listening to music makes things much easier.
It probably got that from you being lazy In the First place. You have to commit to the task and do not give up. Start with what is on the floor. Get some boxes and trash bags.pick up all your clothing put them in bags, You can sort them out later. Try to put similar items together in boxes, Books , Games , videos, clothing accessories, important papers. Make you bed and make it look nice Then make the rest of the room to look as nice. The hardest part is throwing stuff away.
Don’t Give up. Don’t have to do it in one day. It took a long time to get trashed
1. put ALL of ur stuff on ur bed. even ur clothes.
2. wipe all furniture with a wet towel.
3. start by taking random things of ur bed and putting them where u want them.
4. i would start with clothes first. put shirts with shirts and pants with pants.
5. when ur done taking things of ur bed, make ur bed.
6. then put some nice re-freshener in there so that ur room smells good.
7. have fun and stick to it which may be hard.
hope this helped. 😀
Oh my…it’s not easy. I’m a bit of a slob and I usually have to do this once a month. Just remember-it usually gets worse before it gets better. And if you’re not willing to stick it out until you’re done, don’t even start. I usually begin with a trash bag, or 3. You would be amazed at how many things you can find to throw away. Then I focus on clothes. I throw all of my clothes into a big pile (away from all of the other big piles) and usually try to start some laundry. This is where it starts to get complicated. I now have to start making piles of things that have a place, and piles of things that don’t have a place. Put the things that have a place in their place. Then throw away at least half of the things that don’t have a place. Chances are, if they don’t have a place, you don’t use them, therefore they belong in the trashcan. Usually while I’m in the middle of having big piles in the middle of my room, I realize how badly the room needs to be dusted or disinfected, so I get sidetracked by doing that. After I’m done dusting, I’m usually tired and I feel like stopping, and this is the point where if you stop, your piles end up getting spread around and eventually make things worse than they already were.
If none of this convoluted advice works for you, then I recommend starting with one area at a time. Start with your closet, then turn your focus to under your bed, and then around your dresser, and so on. Hopefully something works for you, and you are able to turn your cave into your clean paradise. Good luck!
Dont do it in one day, it’ll take too long, space it out over like 3 days or a week. Then do everything in stages.
1. put everything in the room thats not where it goes into a pile in a corner. you should have a pile the size of Mt. Everest when you are done, but the rest of you room will be clean.
2. decide how many days you want to split up the pile into, putting a little bit away every day until its totally gone.
3. start putting stuff away.
My room looked like a war zone and I hate wasting my time cleaning stuff up when I could just ignore it and do something I actually feel like doing, but eventually it got so bad I had to do something or else I wouldn’t be able to walk around in it, this is how I cleaned it up. By the end of the week (5 days) It was totally clean. I spent like 45 min a day of focused time on it. It was way better than wasting a whole day on just cleaning cleaning cleaning.
