Bagless Vacuum Cleaners

The two main types of upright vacuums are vacuum cleaners that use bagged and bagless vacuum cleaners. These two types of vacuums work on the same principal of suction but differ in the way they filter dust and debris.
The are a number of negative aspects with filter bagged vacuum cleaners.
Firstly there is running cost. You have an ongoing need for purchasing filter bags as they fill up fairly quickly.
The second and most important point for me is smell. When you have a substandard filter bag, dirt and debris can pass through the filter and be pumped back into the atmosphere via the vacuum exhaust. Not only does it smell bad but it defeats the object of vacuuming in the first place.
Finally, as the filter bag gets fuller it loses it’s suction capacity, leaving dirt and dust on the floor.
Not great huh?
Then there is the wonderful bagless vacuum cleaner, sometimes known as a cyclonic vacuum, dependent on the exact technology used.
The filtration system is split into varying parts.
Dirty air enters the vacuum and is subjected to a 2 or three part filtration system. fine dust is spun at high speed, forming a cyclone or vortex effect. Bigger pieces of fluff and hair are then trapped by a second filter which effectively sieves it out and leaves the bigger pieces of dirt to drop into the main bin.
Clean air is then expelled through the exhaust.
The beauty of all this is that the filtration system allows you to capture dirt in the main cylinder, unclip it and empty it as many time as you like, no bags to buy anymore.
You have smell free vacuuming from here on in.
But here’s the best bit (in my eyes). The designs for these bagless vacuums are space age! They have almost become a bit of a status symbol in UK homes, the fancier and more radical the vacuum cleaner, the cooler you are.
Sales of bagless vacuum cleaners are rising solidly and it looks like there is no sign of it stopping just yet.
