Putting my 1935 Hoover Model 800 through the surface-litter pick-up test. I used: – Rice and tea-leaves – Cornflakes – Roughly shredded paper Several people requested I do some test-videos using my older Hoovers, but I bet you didn’t think I’d subject my favourite cleaner to this sort of trial! I can just shake the bag out afterwards, and it’s not like paper, rice or cornflakes are going to damage this behemoth! And as you can see, it BREEZED through the tests! It puts many modern vacs to shame. I used twice as much paper as I did for any of the other cleaners I tested, too. If a 75-year old machine can pass these tests with such flying colours, it’s just embarrassing for any modern cleaner which struggles!
wow just wow, i knew it qould do well but im just amazed at how easily it did it, especially the “just for fun” test, i mean it went you want to pick that up ,no problem, GULP! lol

it was only a joke…..n how…does it or was that a joke i just didnt get!?!?
The Hoover Agitator beats out deeply-embedded, trodden-in grit, which chews at the carpet fibres and destroys the pile.
By removing this, The Hoover prolongs the life of carpets and rugs!
do other vacuums do this such as dyson…..cos i know they get right to the root of your carpet but they dont have a agitator….talkm 2 u when your next online about this matter feal free to remove this comment- or dont approve it.
To remove the very deepest grit, you really need the vibration the Agitator creates.
The Dyson does ok because the suction’s so strong, but I still believe Positive Agitation is the best way to vacuum!
why does your hoover seem to sound so different from Andrews? Yours seems to sound smoother and quieter.
The voltage may make a slight difference. Also, mine had better bearings to begin with – Andrew had to restore his.
i had a hoover Junior with the bag behind the handle like this one but the head was of a turbopower and had a dustbag inside the outer bag too
im sorry but i realy carnt get over how well this works!……it just lafed at this challenge, no modern hoover could do that thats for sure!
