  1. Try taking out the plastic part and giving it a good wash! Maybe sprinkle some Baking Soda into your carpet to remove odors the natural way from the source of the problem.

Also..I ALWAYS go to my local dollar store and buy the carpet powder stuff.
I’m not sure exactly what it’s called..but you can buy it just about anywhere.

I, too have always had multiple dogs at once, and I find it very refreshing every time I empty the plastic container of my vacuum and get a nice wiff of the "fresh linen" smell due to the carpet powder.
    You have my guarantee. :]

    Best of luck to you!

  2. Wash that plastic part in water with baking soda and then put some in the bottom. Do that every time you need to empty it.

  3. if you can sprinkle baking soda the night before on the carpet and then vacuum up the next morning should take the smell out of the carpet also.

  4. I have a bagged vacuum, but this tip might work for you. Each time you empty the canister, place a dryer fabric softener sheet in the container. I do this and it really helps.

  5. Hi its Darran at Dyson.

All you should need to do to keep the odours at bay is to ensure you wash your filter regularly and clean the clear bin. The filters are designed to trap small particles that cause smells etc so by keeping these clean you should notice a difference.

You may also find it useful to wipe over the centre part of the cyclone/bin with a damp cloth, ensuring all parts are dry before putting it back together and using it.
