How to tell I need a new vacuum?

Brenda need help to clarify doubt about: : How to tell I need a new vacuum?
I have a Dyson DC 07 that I got refurbished/used. I am very familiar with them as my mom has 2. It has lately begun throwing debris all over the place. I have to lift it up to get bigger things picked up, and its constantly losing suction. I clean it all the time and its still acting up. It sometimes won’t turn on when I press the on button, I have to hold it down alot to turn it on. The vacuum shop I use said that Shark isn’t any good and don’t buy one (his opinion). He also didn’t like Hoover, which I also have. I’ve considered a Shark because my mom and mother in law have one ( they both have large homes). What should I do? I’ve taken it apart and had trouble getting that rod back in so the repair man had to help me.

It has been my experience that people who buy Dysons love them…for a while. Then the love fades as the performance fades, the plastics snap and the high price doesn’t yield a good, long service life.

Toss it. Get online and find a Sanitaire SC series vacuum. They cost way less than any Dyson, perform better and last longer.

I’m the handyman in a large homeless shelter, our vacuum cleaners are operated by our clientele – some of whom are kind of bitter and take it out on our equipment. We use nothing but SC series vacs, one of which has been in service for 12 years ever since I picked it out of a donation. That’s right, it came to us used and it’s still going strong. You could do as well.

SC supplies are easy to find: Eureka F&G style bags and belts, cheap and available at assorted sources. Dump the Dyson, ignore the hype, enjoy better service from a much humbler, better piece of equipment.

  1. I have an old fashion Hoover vac. and 2 other brands that are bag less. I have problems with suction of the bag less type all the time. Need to clean the filter almost after every vacuum. On almost all vacuums there is an indicator that shows if the filter is clogged on bag-less and if the bag is full
for vacuums if the bag is full.
Fine dust will clog the filter very quickly because the filter of the bag less types is not large enough.
Vacuums with bags have a very large surface area (the bag is the filter) and therefore clog not as frequently. An other advantage of a vacuum with a bag is that I do not have to clean the filter which is an ugly job.

  2. If you bought it refurbished/used
Then its time you bought a new one
What ever you choose will be an improvement on what you have
I have a Bissell and its a good one
Don’t go by what other people have
Choose one to suit your needs
