I was cleaning up and since I didn’t want to sweep the floor, I ended up vacuuming over a wet spot. When I was finished the bag was wet, and the vacuum seemed okay. My only concern is for the next person that will use the same vacuum after me.

I would venture to say most if not all was absorbed into the dirt & bag.
Unless it was dripping wet on the outside of the bag you have nothing to worry about………….. .toss the bag if you haven’t already.
You need a wet vac to suck up liquids or it may short out the motor or cause electrocution.
