Is it safe to store my childrens clothing in the attic in sealed

They are clean and dry and I pushed as much air out as possible. They may be in there for a few years. I stored my first sons in boxes and put them in the storage unit and they were fine except gor a few bugs(ewww)but I do not have that option.I do not want to open them and find mildew later.

  1. No, do not store this in between children. Store the bags of clothes in one part of the attic and the children in a separte area.

  2. try vacuuming the air out… make sure it is REALLLLY sealed…cause of spiders….depending on where you live.. we get brown recluses!!! but our house is a verrry old victorian. im scared when i have to open something from up there

  3. Get some Rough Totes, they are safer and better than bags, they WILL NOT mildew.
you can find them at Home Depot or Lowes.

  4. There are bags called “Space Bags” available in Australia (and probably the US), you attach your vacuum to a special hole and suck out all the air. These would give you a much better chance of preventing mildew etc. Also they are much stronger than garbage bag, less likely to tear. They are transparent which means you can see the contents, and come in a range of sizes and shapes too.
