I came home from work a couple weeks ago to find both my daughters wearing one one of my bras each over their nose and mouth, and using the vacuum cleaner to pick up our cat’s diarrhea. They’d over-fed her on porridge, caused an accident and didn’t want me to find out.
Now there’s the worst smell on this planet every time I turn the hoover on (yes, I’ve emptied the bag). I think the diarrhea’s got into the actual workings of the machine.
Will the smell wear off over time, or should I just throw it in the trash and get a new one? I can’t cope with the smell for much longer and it doesn’t seem to have got any better over the weeks.
What you could do is buy mothballs and place in new vacuum bag..Also check bottom of vacuum brushes as there may be cat doo doo on the brushes. These are removable so you can scrub and wash them in a plastic pail with suds and bleach. I just asked my husband and he said, the hoses may be contaminated wotj remnants of the cat doo doo. Take them off and wash them in the shower or tub with sudsy water with some bleach. That may be the culprit..What a smart guy he is! I didn’t think of the hoses. He happened to be passing by when I was answering your question and I asked his advice. Hope it works. Good Luck..
defenatly buy a new one….
ew..
loooooooooooool thats the sort of thing my kids would do, ther’s no way it can get into the workings of the hoover, you should be able to buy a new bag tho?
but your prob better of going and buying a new one if it smells that bad! 🙂
short of taking it all apart and cleaning it, which would be gross, and still might not help you probably need a new one
Make the kids buy a new vacuum.
You have got to be kidding. The answer is obvious. Clean the machine…
lol
It might be the filters…have you checked those? Buy new filters, new bag and clean any obvious parts which were soiled.
Just buy a new one.
But someones gotta go. Who’s it gonna be? The cat, or the kids?
Gross, it sounds like something my husband would do. At least he did it with dry cat poop and vomit. We have a bag less with washable filters. I had to bleach the dustbin on it and wash the filters.
If they sucked up wet diarrhea though it’s probably hopeless.
Try hitting your kids.
