Looking for Some Advice on Vacuum Sealing…?

Hello. I was just wondering if anyone knows a cheap way to vacuum seal small bags of meat & other food & food products like hot dogs and such. I’ve noticed that vacuum sealer bags are expensive & was wondering if anyone has had any success with using cheap alternatives. It’s for shipping purposes. Thank you for your time.
Good advice, but this is fresh meat I’m sending in the mail, so it has to be a vacuum seal or at least close to it. Thank you for your answers thus far.

  1. use zip lock fill bag lower in to water the water perisher will force out most of the air zip it wile in water

  2. Just adding to cliff’s answer: do not submerge the bag completely, you are just using the pressure of the water to squeeze the air out of the top of the bag. (you won’t get a "vacuum seal" but it will remove most of the air, which is the goal.) And remember, some things will float & this won’t always work.
