The vacuum works great on hard wood floors and with the suction attachments but as soon as I use it on carpet the brush stops spinning. It is a Shark Infinity upright bag less vacuum.

Check the low/high carpet knob. Put it on correct carpet height.(Maybe it’s set too low). And yes, definitly check you belt. Check the brush and pull out any accumulation ( hair, yarn etc.)
Perhaps the belt is stretched a bit, try using a new belt.
Your belt needs to be changed. They should be be changed twice a year. (they stretch)
