  1. With pet hair, you need to take into consideration two main points:

    1) Suction Power / Efficiency
    2) Filtration

You need a vacuum that is both powerful and efficient (i.e. has the tools you need), and good filtration (if you suffer from alergies).

If you don’t suffer from alergies, then one of the best vacuums you can go with is the Shark Navigator. It’s a great vacuum that is almost as powerful as the Dyson DC25 Animal, at a much cheaper price ($120 right now at Amazon). It also comes with a great turbo brush for pet hair on upholstery. However, it doesn’t have a HEPA filter, but does come with foam filters (lifetime) that get about 94% of all particles down to 0.3 microns (decent, but still not HEPA, if that matters to you – it doesn’t to me). Also, you don’t have to buy bags since it’s a bagless vacuum – and it’s really easy to empty the bin and isn’t messy at all.

If you are worried about alergies then I would recommend the Eureka Airspeed Bagless or Pet vacuums. You get great power (although not quite as much as the Shark), and you also get HEPA filtration.

Hope that helps! Below is a link to a good review of the Shark Navigator

  2. You’re in luck, the LG Kompressor LuV200R Pet Care Upright Vacuum is selling right now for about $99. Nice price! Rated 4 out of 5 stars by 111 customers who have actually bought this machine. Great value. Strong suction, quiet, and great flexibility and attachments.

Best of all – NO BAGS to buy! Filters are washable so no need to buy them either!

    Hope this helps.
