I have a question about bagless vacuum cleaners….?

Hi. I can’t find the papers on my bagless vacuum cleaner and was wondering if it is okay to spray the carpet cleaner on and then vacuum with a "bagless" vacuum cleaner. I can’t really imagine what it would hurt since the only real difference I can see is that all of the dirt is going to a container instead of a bag. Thanks everyone…I haven’t had this all that long and didn’t want to do something that would damage my vacuum, so if you have a bagless vacuum and have done this or if you know something about them….please respond. I really appreciate it.

  1. I’ve done the same thing and also own a bagless vacuum without having any problems. I let it sit on the carpet for a short time before running it, but so far no issues! 🙂

  2. I guess it would depend on what kind of carpet cleaner you are talking about. If it comes off the carpet wet, it wouldn’t be a good idea. The reason I say this is because a few months ago I took out and rinsed the filter (like the book said I could), but I didn’t let it dry thoroughly before I put it back in. Then ONE WEEK later that silly thing still wasn’t dry and it wouldn’t pick up anything. I didn’t KNOW that, however, and I took it into the shop where I found out the problem. All I guess I’m saying is, if the filter gets wet there might be a problem.

  3. I’m not sure on what you mean by carpet cleaner, but I have a bagless and use powder carpet freshner and it doesn’t really cause a problem, but I empty it out as soon as I am done. If you are talking about liquid carpet spray you should wait until it’s dry and that’s with any vacuum.

  4. Never spray you carpet with any kind of liquid! Trust me my dad use to be a carpet layer and when ever he pulled the carpet up to put new carpet in, he would find mold! and lots of it. And i dont think you can do that with your vacuum either! Just wait til it dries.

  5. As long as you let the carpets dry first, in case they got a little wet with the spray cleaner, you should have no problems.
