need help im fed up with my vacuum.?

ok so me and my husband bought this vacuum brand new from the BX. its a bissel. ever sense we had it we had problems with it. you see my house has brand new carpet, so when it wasnt picking up all the stuff from the carpet i thought that that was why, so we didnt return it… its been months now and its still doing it. now it just balls it up and spits it out… it dont pick up anything. the vacuum we bought was over 100 bucks. i dont know what to do to make it work. we have tried cleaning it out, and things, but nothing works. should i just get a new vacuum? before this vac i had a diff one what worked wonderful. it dont work now either and i dont know why. i was usen it and then it started to sound different and i started to smell a burning smell. i changed the belt and the bag but it still dont work. i dont know what the prob is with all the vacs i buy for this house. can some one tell me how to fix or whats wrong with my vacuumes? my other vac was a hoover if that helps. PLZ SOME ONE HELP! i dont want to have to buy a new vac.

  1. you didn’t say whether this was an upright or a canister type, but first I would check and see if there is an air flow adjustment. This might be as simple as a small plastic sleeve that you rotate to adjust the amount of suction the vac will have. Sometimes when you have this feature, you dial it down some to vac over area rugs and not lift them off the floor. If you have this, and it is set to maximum, the next step would be to check the hose. If the hose comes off, take it outside and slam one end of the sidewalk and see if you have an obstruction in there. Next would be the belt for the moving brush, again if you have one, Is the belt on, and snug> Not slipping. Turn the vac on and turn it upside down, does the brush rotate quickly? It would help if I know what type of machine this was/. If you want to write back, I’ll watch for your reply
