I was doing some intense hoovering when the hoover conked out is it…

I was hoovering up what seemed like a carpet of dust from underneath my bed (It’s a base bed so you have to move the bed to do it). The suction seemed to give out, which I assumed was just do with a serious bit of dust, then the hoover just fizzled out. I thought it might be because the bag was full so I changed it but still nothing.

Did I break it? I always get accused of breaking stuff but it’s normally just a coincidence.
okay got it working again but there’s no suction – perhaps there is a blockage in the tube somewhere
found out what it was with the help of an extended coathanger – a lipbalm tube.
I’m just glad I didn’t break it!

  1. Pending on the make of vacuum cleaner they have a cut-out on the motor to stop it overheating (your room must have been a right sh8t-tip!).

Ok causes – you havent emptied the bag since you bought it!
You have sucked up something wet and soaked the filter causing it to think there is a blockage.
You sucked up something to block it, the machine then cut out and let the blockage go, and now its working fine again.

Usually its an overfull bag and getting some serious use.

Henry/George vacuum cleaners have these as a lot of tradesmen use them as they are hard as nails to break. Let it cool down and then you will be fine.

If you have already recieved a bollocking for this, stick some kitchen roll down the end and let someone else do the same – then return the blames with exrtra tutting, sighing and sarcasm in spades!

    Good luck!
